New 2014-15 Season: information

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Welcome back to Curling at Deeside for the 2014-15 season! We start FPOW  competitions on Monday 8th September, with lots of new members.

Playing structure

Over the next 3-4 months, we will run 2 separate Monday leagues for play at 6pm and 8pm. In each session, there is an uneven number of teams, and so every week one team will not compete (a “bye”). Please check the attached documents to ensure you know when your team will be playing. As usual, we will have no matches during school holidays.

Membership and Ice Fees

Membership fees have been frozen at the same level as last season. Full adult membership is £50 for the whole 2014-15 season. Other membership options are available.

Ice fees have also been frozen for those who prefer to pay-as-you-go. However, we plan to offer a cut-price season ticket (£110 adult rate, £70 junior/wheelchair rate) to cover this first half of the season. This should improve finances for both the FPOW and regular players, as the Province has guaranteed income to pay for hiring the ice hall, while curlers should save 16% compared to the cost of paying in cash each week. These proposals are subject to ratification by an Extraordinary General Meeting before play starts on Monday 8th September.
