The victorious Mid Wales Vikings, after winning their title-crucial final game on Monday 18th March
The final night of curling at Deeside in the 2012-13 season started with two teams still able to win the FPOW Premier League title, and both were from the Mid Wales club.
Mid Wales Vikings went into the evening as favourites, given that even losing against Connah's Quay Seals would not automatically lose them the title. Mid Wales Kites were the only other team able to win the league, but needed a conclusive win over the Wheelchair Curlers as well as the Vikings to lose.
In the end, it was all academic, as the Vikings took a 7-4 win, and secured their first Premier League win in recent history. It means the Vikings have secured two titles this season, after winning the League Cup a few weeks earlier. The season is now all but complete, with just the formalities of the WCA and FPoW Annual General Meetings and Presentations to come.
