Wales were unfortunate to come out on the wrong side of a close fought encounter against a strong Turkey team with plenty of experience in their ranks.
A solid last stone draw gave Wales the hammer and they immediately took advantage with a score of two in the first, before profiting from some lacklustre Turkish shot making to steal two more in the second. Turkey fought back, however and Wales held a slender lead of 5-4 at the break.
A further steal of two followed in the sixth however that was the last score for Wales, with Turkey turning the screw and scoring in each of the subsequent ends to secure the win.
