#ECC2021 Match Report: Spain 8 – Wales 4

Wales bowed out of the European Curling Championships 2021 with an 8-4 defeat against Spain on Friday in the play off Qualification match.

Granted hammer by virtue of their 2nd place finish in Group B, Spain did not hesitate to turn the screw on Wales from the beginning of the match, scoring two in the second and stealing a further two in the third, going into the break 6-1 ahead.

Wales fought back to keep the encounter going in the second half, but overcoming the deficit proved an insurmountable task. The eventual score of 8-4 reflected a game of two halves, but ultimately also gave a fair impression of the overall encounter.

Wales can be proud of the team's efforts this year, having improved on previous results and setting a solid platform for the future.
